MURRIETA, CA — DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGIST

The simple version:
We need a Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist to work onsite at a hospital in Murrieta, CA, reading a broad mix of everyday hospital imaging.

THE JOB

  • Location: 28062 Baxter Rd, Murrieta, CA 92563
  • Onsite: Yes — NOT remote
  • Schedule: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Setting: 111-bed hospital
  • Patients: Inpatient + outpatient
  • Start: ASAP after credentialing
  • Credentialing: Approximately 2–3 months
  • Trauma: None

WHAT ARE THEY ACTUALLY DOING?

Most of the day is spent sitting at a workstation reviewing medical images and dictating reports.

They should be a strong general diagnostic radiologist who can comfortably read:

  • X-rays
  • CT scans
  • Ultrasounds
  • MRIs
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Basic neuro imaging — brain/spine
  • Basic MSK imaging — bones/joints/muscles
  • Abdominal and pelvic CTs

HOW BUSY?

Expect roughly 100–120 reads per day, approximately:

60–70 X-rays
30–32 CTs
12–15 ultrasounds
3 MRIs
2–3 fluoroscopy cases

The facility does approximately 9,500 radiology exams per month overall.

PROCEDURES

This is NOT an Interventional Radiology job.

They may need to handle some basic fluoroscopy/GI studies:

  • Upper GI
  • Esophagram
  • Small bowel follow-through
  • Barium enema

They might occasionally need to do:

  • PICC line placement
  • Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)

They do NOT need to perform the more involved procedures like biopsies, lumbar punctures, joint injections, epidural injections, bone marrow biopsies, etc.

No mammography or breast procedures.

TECHNOLOGY

  • PACS: NovaRad — where the radiologist views the images
  • Dictation: MModal — where they dictate their findings/reports
  • Support staff is available.

MUST-HAVES

The big one:

Must be Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology.

Also requires:

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • DEA
  • X-ray Supervisor & Operator certificate
  • Driver's license
  • Must meet their malpractice requirements
