Job Opportunity - Physician Assistant / Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Cardiothoracic Surgery - Arizona

Start Date: Not specified

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Housing/Travel: Lodging recommendations available; to qualified applicants
Schedule: 4 days per month, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM with call coverage from 3:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Highlights:

  • Cardiothoracic surgery support role in a 199-bed hospital setting
  • Patient volume of 10-15 CVICU/step-down patients daily, plus 1-2 surgical cases
  • Specialized procedures include temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and arterial line placement
  • Cerner EMR system
  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • Remote orientation and training provided prior to start

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience with proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
  • Graduate from a university program approved by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) OR Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Current or eligible for Arizona Physician Assistant license OR unrestricted Arizona APRN license
  • NCCPA certification (current or eligible) for PA applicants
  • For NP applicants: Graduate from an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program and completion of RN/NP First Assistant Program
  • Medical Surgical or NP ANCC or AANP Certification (for NP applicants)
  • ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association) certifications required
  • DEA registration required
  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Recent case logs and vaccination records required for credentialing
  • Credentialing timeframe: 30 days
