Job Opportunity - Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner - Arizona

Schedule: 4 days per month, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, plus beeper call coverage 3:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Highlights:
- Support an established cardiothoracic surgeon in a 199-bed acute care facility
- Manage 10-15 CVICU and step-down patients daily, plus 1-2 surgical cases
- Perform specialized procedures including temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
- EMR system: Cerner with mandatory remote training provided prior to start
- Adult and geriatric patient population with comprehensive cardiothoracic case mix
- Orientation includes structured training with call coverage support
Requirements:
- Active Arizona Physician Assistant license or Arizona APRN license (or eligible for licensure)
- Board certification: PA-C by NCCPA or AANP/ANCC certification for NPs
- Minimum 3 years of recent cardiothoracic surgery experience with proficiency in endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH)
- Graduate from NCCPA-approved PA program or completion of Acute Care NP program with RN/NP First Assistant training
- Current DEA, ACLS, and BLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Credentialing timeline: 30 days; case logs and vaccination records required
