Job Opportunity - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Virginia
Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Central Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Housing/Travel: Lodging recommendations available; to qualified applicants
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week (or three 12-hour shifts with weekend availability preferred); weekly availability required with no rotating weeks on/off schedule; includes one rotating Saturday per month; holiday weeks required (Christmas Day and New Year's Day off, with possible Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve scheduling)
Highlights:
- Join a robust anesthesia team at a Level 1 trauma center with 600+ beds supporting 33 main ORs, 12 outpatient surgery ORs, 16 offsite locations, and dedicated GI center rooms
- Work within a collaborative academic environment alongside 60 CRNAs, 70 attending anesthesiologists, and 60 anesthesia residents
- Flexible practice settings including main OR, outpatient surgery center, and endoscopy center with option to practice at multiple locations
- Epic EMR system in use facility-wide
- 13-week contract with potential extensions; no call required
- Full scope CRNA practice excluding open heart/thoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, and peripheral nerve blocks
Requirements:
- Valid Virginia CRNA license and board certification required
- Minimum 2 years of CRNA experience; academic medical center or Level 1 trauma center experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing ASA 3+ patients preferred; recent inpatient experience highly valued
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must be completed through the American Heart Association)
- COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (no exemptions)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from facility location
- Two professional references required with application
- All time-off requests must be submitted in advance; requests exceeding 5 consecutive days will not be approved during summer months
- Minimum 30-day credentialing timeframe
