Job Opportunity - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Virginia
Start Date: September 28, 2026
Location: Central Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Housing/Travel: Lodging recommendations available; to qualified applicants
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week or three 12-13 hour shifts weekly, plus one rotating Saturday per month. Weekly availability required; rotating weeks on/off not preferred. No call required. All time off requests must be submitted upfront and approved prior to contract acceptance. Requests exceeding 5 consecutive days will not be approved during summer months.
Highlights:
- 13-week contract with options to extend at a 600-bed Level 1 trauma center
- Collaborative team environment with 60 CRNAs, 70 attending anesthesiologists, and 60 anesthesia residents
- Coverage across 33 main ORs, 16 offsite anesthesia locations, 12 outpatient surgery ORs, and 3-4 standalone GI center rooms
- Full CRNA scope of practice excluding open heart/thoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, and peripheral nerve blocks
- Epic EMR system utilized facility-wide
- Patient population from adolescents (age 13) through end of life
Requirements:
- Active Virginia CRNA license and board certification required
- Minimum 2 years of CRNA experience; academic medical center or Level 1 trauma center experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with ASA 3+ patients preferred; outpatient-only candidates may be considered with recent inpatient setting experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must be completed through the American Heart Association)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required; exemptions will not be approved
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (non-local candidates only)
- Two professional references required with submittal
- Minimum 30-day credentialing timeframe
